Developed in the US, Tailored Lighting Technology Steals the Spotlight in Germany's Fine Art Market

Breakthrough SoLux lighting technology, developed in Rochester, New York, was recently chosen to illuminate the collections housed in two prominent museums, the Wallraf-Richartz Museum and the Von Der Heydt Museum.

The museum unveiled a new look using the lighting technology developed by Tailored Lighting Inc. based in Rochester, New York. Top museum directors from cities across Germany, including noted art centers like Munich, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Dresden, Bremen, Dortmund, Hanover, and Frankfurt, were present to witness first hand the breathtaking effect the breakthrough lighting technology on paintings, including those painted by Rembrandt, Cézanne, Monet, Renoir, and Van Gogh.

The lighting solution (sold under the trade names of SoLux in the USA and Diamondline-Pro in Europe) developed by American Inventor Kevin McGuire, president of Tailored Lighting Inc. in Rochester, New York, sheds new light on ageless masterpieces, revealing colors and hidden details in the art never seen nor documented before.

Dr. Andreas Bluhm, Director of the Wallraf Museum, has been a long time champion of SoLux. He previously worked at the Van Gogh Museum in the Netherlands where he was Director of Exhibitions and first experienced the revealing effect of SoLux when the lighting was used to illuminate several Van Goghs on loan from the National Gallery of Art.

Dr. Bluhm, a Van Gogh expert, was amazed when he saw the Van Gogh's under SoLux for the first time. He discovered blues and violets in Van Gogh's Potato Eaters, a painting previously considered composed entirely of browns and grays. Dr. Bluhm subsequently converted the entire exhibition space in the Van Gogh Museum to SoLux.

As a result of an earlier visit to the Wallraf, Dr. Gerhard Finckh, director of the Von Der Heydt Museum in nearby Wuppertal, Germany decided to relight his exhibition gallery with Mr. McGuire's lighting technology. He employed SoLux prior to his museum's blockbuster Renoir exhibit. Dr. Finckh stated the exhibit was one of the most successful exhibits in the museums history attracting over 90,000 visitors. As a result, Dr. Finckh stated, "I plan to convert the entire museum to the new lighting."
