New Jersey Super Band Apocket Bleu Looking for Their Big "Break"
Apocket Bleu advances to semi-finals in The Break Contest at famed Stone Pony club.
(PRWEB) February 20, 2008 -- On Sunday February 10th, The Stone Pony, Asbury Park's legendary night club, was host to Apocket Bleu, back to perform as part of The Break contest. The Break is the official contest for The Bamboozle East, an annual multi-day concert held at The Meadowlands. Bands compete in a multiple round elimination process that will award winning bands a set at the renowned music fest.
Apocket Bleu has performed at The Stone Pony on several occasions and was invited back to compete for a spot on the big stage at The Meadowlands on May 3rd and 4th, 2008. Following the February 10th contest, the band has advanced to the semi-final round and will perform again at the famed club on March 22nd (time tba). In addition, Apocket Bleu was chosen from thousands of submissions to appear in The Cape May Singer Songwriter event, which will be held in the resort town on March 6-8, 2008. This is a truly remarkable accomplishment since they placed among artists from all over the world for this event. It speaks to the quality of their writing and performance.
They will be showcased at Cabanas on Friday, March 7th, at 8:30 PM. In addition, Paul LoPresti, the band's lead vocalist, songwriter and keyboard player, will be featured during the event performing some of his more acoustic oriented compositions, accompanied by Sandy Eldred on guitar (Saturday, March 8th, Carney's Other Room, 8:15 PM). Since their official launch in the summer of 2007, the band's calendar continues to fill with opportunities which are sure to escalate.
Locally, they have upcoming performances scheduled at Drazil Organic Restaurant (www.drazilrestaurant.com), Egg Harbor Township, on Saturday, February 23rd, at 8-10 PM. Tickets are $5 in advance.
