Shrek Internet Safety Browser for Kids Earns 2008 iParenting Best Product Award

Shrek Browser for Kids, developed by Children's Educational Network (www.childrenseducationalnetwork.com), receives 2008 iParenting Best Product Award for being the best in fun, educational, parental control safety products available to keep kids safe from online predators, pornography and other inappropriate content.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) February 20, 2008 -- Children's Educational Network (CEN) is proud to announce that they have been honored with the distinctive IParenting 2008 Best Products Award for their internet safety, parental control Shrek Browser for kids. Thousands of products were submitted and reviewed to determine the winners of the 2008 iParenting Best Products Award and all were put through the only internationally certified product evaluation system in the parenting and awards industry.

CEN's Shrek Browser for Kids, an internet safety product designed to keep kids safe from online predators and inappropriate content while educating them in a fun, animated online environment, was evaluated by three outside reviewers consisting of: a group facility such as a licensed childcare facility/school, an expert and a parent. The reviewers filled out an extensive survey and wrote feedback about this highly effective parental control software which can be accessed online. In addition to the outside reviewers, the iParenting Media Awards Executive Committee reviewed all submissions.

Greg Writer is an Internet safety expert and Founder/CEO of CEN. He is excited about creating an award-winning product that has been designed to keep kids safe while they are having fun online. "This is such an honor and shows that products like ours that are designed to help parents keep their kids safe online is now being supported by the community on a level that validates our unrelenting efforts to build the largest Internet safety software company in the world.

The road to building CEN has been a long one for Greg and a road that began when pornographic material appeared on his computer screen when his seven-year-old daughter typed her name in the address bar. A dedicated father of five, Greg say's his journey to protecting kids around the world has just begun. The newest offering from CEN is Club TUKI (www.ClubTUKI.com), a website for kids that offers fun, educational games where kids earn TUKI Moola which teaches the beginning aspects of finance through a virtual bank account and the opportunity to bid on and win great auction items.

Greg realizes how important the internet is in today's society. He also knows the importance of online safety and education. "The Internet is an amazing tool that we do not want to restrict our kids from completely. But being honored with this award shows that people are willing to look at such a product and wake up to the facts about the dangers online, hopefully coming out of denial about what is and can happen and wanting to do something about it. That is a wonderful development in our efforts to reach out to protect children online. I want parents to know we are here for them."
