Bom Sucesso - The Largest Modern Residential Architecture Project Ever Undertaken in Europe

If you are into modern contemporary living and you want your home to reflect that, then Bom Sucesso is for you.

London, UK (PRWEB) February 21, 2008 -- Bom Sucesso Design Resort turns property into an artform. This homage to modern living has been created on a 270 acre site near the medieval town of Obidos, on Portugal's Silver Coast, less than an hour from Lisbon. Their collaboration is the largest modern architecture project ever undertaken in Europe. And what's more, these modern homes of the future are for sale - right now.

The 23 contemporary architects, including Alvaro Siza Vieira, Souto Moura, the UK's Stirling prize winner David Chipperfield, Josep Llinas and Aires Mateus, adhered to a set of rules that provide unity for the project, but also enabled them to follow their own style. For example, all rooftops and exterior walls must be covered in greenery - a rule which brings originality and sustainability.

Bom Sucesso will contain 1,079 properties – a mixture of both villas and townhouses. 601 luxury units are currently under construction in the current phase, and 478 properties are planned for the future. The high quality of the homes is emphasized by the low density of the development, with only seven per cent of the resort built upon. This gives each property a remarkable level of privacy, while the proximity of the sea and dos lagoon provides each property with fantastic views.

Extensive amenities include a unique 120-room hotel and conference centre, luxury spa, shopping facilities and 18-hole Championship golf course, designed by the world-renowned architect Donald Steel. The tee for the tenth is on the hotel roof – making for a truly unusual and spectacular hole. Complementing the properties will be a large ecological reserve and a design museum. Bom Sucesso's intention is to be a new cultural centre in Europe.

Bom Sucesso has been classed as a five-star resort development by the Portuguese Directorate-General for Tourism, and named as a Project of Potential National Interest (PIN) by the Portuguese Investment Agency.

Villas are available to purchase in a design and build package. Three-,four- and five-bedroom villa designs are available and plots range between 700 and 3,000 sqm. Prices vary according to size, location and the architect designated to that particular project, but start from around 500,000 Euros for a three-bedroom villa including the plot. Landscaping and private swimming pools are optional extras. Over 90 per cent of the villas have just one floor, in order to maximize sunlight and views.

A range of townhouses are also available at Bom Sucesso but, unlike the villas, these are only available for purchase once building is completed. Prices for townhouses start from 250,000 Euros for a one-bedroom unit.

"Bom Sucesso is probably the largest permanent showcase of contemporary architecture in the world," explains Goncalo Castelo Branco, a director of developer Acordo. "This resort has been developed as a model of excellence, with contemporary architecture forming the cornerstone of its concept strategy. This is an innovative concept – contemporary architecture blended into the natural landscape. We are proud to have created some of the most avant-garde and distinctive house designs in the international property market today."
