Jade Leary Uses iMac's Built-In Camera to Shoot New HD Music Video
Magnatune independent recording artist Jade Leary uses an iMac's built-in iSight camera to shoot an HD music video for the song We Were Eternal, taken from his new album Black Glitter Diaries.
Montreal, QC (PRWEB) February 21, 2008 -- Who says you need high-tech gear to shoot a professional music video? Magnatune independent recording artist Jade Leary certainly doesn't think so. The first music video for his new album Black Glitter Diaries -- featuring the song We Were Eternal -- was shot using an iMac's built-in iSight camera.
The video, which can be found on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHN_SdMSotI) and in HD quality on his official website (http://www.jadeleary.com) uses a hand-drawn theme to mask the original quality of the camera capture.
"I knew the fixed camera and its angle would be perfectly in-keeping with the lyrics of the song, so I just needed to find a way to make its picture -- which is fine for video conferencing -- more palatable for a music video," Leary said. "The hand-drawn theme seemed a perfect fit, allowing me to blow up the image and actually use the video artifacts as part of the art direction. The entire concept really grew from there. I drew some sketches that became animated vignettes and tied everything together."
Jade Leary used Apple's Motion and Adobe's After Effects to create the final product in 720p HD quality.
