Culver City, CA (PRWEB) February 25, 2008 -- BEEZLE-NUT STEW: A WHO-MONGUS CULVER CITY ART OPENING EVENT, COMMEMORATING THE PAST AND PRESENT OF DR. SEUSS' HORTON HEARS A WHO!

The animation industry is celebrating the original animated 1970s Dr. Seuss/Chuck Jones collaboration, Horton Hears A Who!, before the much anticipated release of the 20th Century Fox remake, starring Jim Carrey and Steve Carell. WHAT: Thanks to a long-standing relationship with the Chuck Jones family and Linda Jones Enterprises, the Wonderful World Art Gallery has the privilege of putting together an incredible collection of never before seen art from the original 1970s animated adaptation of Horton Hears A Who!, which will be premiered at the opening. Beginning with an in-gallery screening of the classic film, the Animation Magazine sponsored event will be hosted by special guests June Foray, who was the original voice of Jane Kangaroo.

While Beezle-Nut Stew will feature never before seen original production drawings and cels from the 70s classic, no stew would be complete without a mix of ingredients, so also featured will be original art by Dr. Seuss, as well as the good Doctor's Unorthodox Taxidermy, Illustration and Secret Art. Also production art from other Chuck Jones 1970s classics, such as Rikki Tikki Tavi and The White Seal will be available. Beezle-Nut's super special ingredient will be two beautiful conceptual art pieces of Horton and Mrs. Toucanella, which were joyfully found deep in the Chuck Jones archives and world premiered with WWA. Giclees of these amazing gouache paintings will be available and anyone purchasing a production cel from Horton Hears A Who! at the event will receive their choice of either the Horton or the Mrs. Toucanella giclee as complimentary gift. Beezle-Nut Stew will also be getting a little contemporary seasoning with the wonderfully imaginative art of Luke Feldman and Kate McCavitt. A popular Australian artist, Luke is the creator of SKAFFS, a collection of adorably cute, luscious and bizarre characters that live within the world of his extremely active imagination. Kate McCavitt, working with bold, emotional colors, creates beautiful Asian inspired paintings.

Attendees will also be enjoying a variety of jungle inspired refreshments including the Gallery's very own creation, the Who-tini, and will get the chance to be photographed next to Who-ville. Two tickets to the new, highly anticipated Horton Hears A Who! film, as well as gift certificates for popcorn and soda, will be raffled off during the event. Thanks to Animation Magazine, each guest will receive the March issue of the popular industry magazine that has a feature article on the upcoming remake of Horton Hears A Who! A limited amount of guests will also have the opportunity to acquire the classic children's book Horton Hears A Who!, written by Dr. Seuss and also have it autographed by June Foray. To RSVP for the event, guests can visit www.WWAGallery.com and click on the Beezle-Nut Stew link.

WHO: SPECIAL GUEST HOST JUNE FORAY, actress and voice talent, has lent her vocals to over 200 animations including the Chuck Jones/Dr. Seuss collaborations, Horton Hears A Who! and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Starting in the voice field at age 12, June, who is now a spry 90 years young, continues to work even today. In Horton Hears A Who!, June voiced several characters including Jane Kangaroo and a reprisal of her Grinch role as Cindy Lou Who. WHERE: Wonderful World Art Gallery is located in downtown Culver City, among many fine eateries, and adjacent the multi-media giant, Sony Pictures Entertainment. The Gallery is located at 9517 Culver Boulevard, Culver City, CA 90232.

WHEN: Friday, March 7th, 2008 -- 6:00-9:00 p.m.
5:30 p.m. - Private viewing of the 1970 Chuck Jones, Horton Hears A Who! -- Seats are limited, RSVP required

HORTON HEARS A WHO!, was first published in 1954, by Ted Geisel, who wrote under the pen name Dr. Seuss. His children's books are among the defining works of family literature which have sold over 200 million copies, and have been translated into fifteen languages. The beloved story is about an imaginative elephant, Horton, who hears a cry for help coming from a tiny speck of dust floating through the air. Suspecting there may be life on that speck and despite a surrounding community which thinks he has lost his mind, Horton is determined to help.
