Nationally Recognized Counter-Terrorism Expert and Connecticut State Police Veteran Joins SSC, Inc.

Patrick J. W. Chagnon Appointed Manager, Corporate Intelligence & Investigation

Shelton, Conn. (PRWEB) February 26, 2008 -- SSC, Inc. (SSC), www.corporateintel.net, the leader in security for the tri-state region, today announced that counter-terrorism expert and Connecticut state police veteran Patrick J. W. Chagnon has joined SSC, Inc. as its new Manager of Corporate Intelligence & Investigation.

Chagnon, previously the counter terrorism coordinator for the Connecticut State Police and the Connecticut Department of Emergency Management & Homeland Security, will oversee the daily operations of the SSC Corporate Intelligence & Investigations division, http://corporateintel.net/services.asp. This is comprised of Investigations, Risk Management, Specialized Training and Consulting Services. The position reports to Amit Gavish, SSC Inc.'s Managing Director, Corporate Intelligence & Investigation.

A 22-year veteran of the Connecticut State Police, Chagnon has had extensive investigations and counter-terrorism experience. After September 11, 2001, Chagnon was assigned to the newly-established state homeland security unit, where in addition to investigations, he coordinated, developed and trained officers at every level in topics from counter-terrorism measures to risk management methodologies. The Associated Press identified him in 2004 as one of a "handful" of U.S. counter terrorism experts with experience training law enforcement and the business community.

"Patrick's vast experience in law enforcement, risk assessment and anti-terrorism will provide a unique advantage to our clients in this post 9-11 world of international threats from terrorism and increasing domestic security challenges," said David Linsky, CEO, SSC, Inc. "We couldn't ask for a better person to manage our team and aid our clients in their security efforts."

Chagnon was a lead instructor with a national counter terrorism-training program, "Prevention and Response to Suicide Bombing Incidents" and also served as a subject matter expert in curriculum development for the national homeland security training program taught through Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center, Socorro, NM.

He is the 2007 recipient of the Training Award from the New England State Police Intelligence Network (NESPIN) and has served as a national trainer and speaker for numerous public and private organizations. He is a certified crime prevent/risk management specialist with the American Crime Prevention Institute, a state and national certified trainer. In 2005 he was one of four law enforcement officers from the United States selected to attend a training course covering critical infrastructure protection and counter-terrorism operations relating to terrorism held in Israel with the Israeli National Police. He is a member of the American Society of Industrial Safety and Security, the International Association for Counterterrorism & Security Professionals, Connecticut Chiefs Association and the International Law Enforcement Trainers and Education Association, among other professional affiliations.
