Rio De Janeiro Welcome Italian Artist Lucio Salvatore, Magnificent Installation in Botanical Garden to Celebrate His 200 Year Anniversary

Salvatore´s installation is the artist´s homage to Rio de Janeiro, in the heart of the city´s most beautiful place of preservation of nature and life.

Rio De Janeiro (PRWEB) March 20, 2008 --Rio De Janeiro celebrates Italian artist Lucio Salvatore and his magnificent installation in the Botanical Garden.

After 9 years from his first landing in the capital of Samba, Italian Artist Lucio Salvatore, comes back to Rio De Janeiro bringing his art to the people and city that have adopted him for an important time of his life.

Salvatore has brought his paintings to the place that has inspired him for the last decade and his art gets new meanings when installed in the heart of Rio De Janeiro, in the historical Botanical Garden, an institution that celebrates its 200th anniversary this year, a place of absolute beauty.

The Paintings that Salvatore is presenting in Rio are deep blue, green and intense gold and but are crossed by stains of blood that breaks the harmony of the delicate palette of colors: this work has been view by Brazilian critic as an open denounce against the destruction of the environment:

"It is our destiny, this open wound that bleeds in our oceans and forests - Salvatore says about the destruction of the earth - the problem is not in the pollution or the emission of gases in the atmosphere, these are just consequences, environmentalists fight against the consequences.

The reality is that there is no way we can deal with the real cause: men's will of power, the science and progress' illusion of control and total organization of the world."

The Botanical Garden is a place of preservation, where history speaks loud and is alive -- and Salvatore 2007 work wants to be alive, the pigments are burnt to enhance the colors depth and their metamorphosis symbolizes the always-flowing nature of life.

Salvatore creates his paintings and the documentation of the process of creating - as much as their presentation - represent an important part of his art. The exhibition under the famous Christ's arms fulfills the artist most intimate desire of seeing his works exposed in the place were they belong to.

Reception March 18th, Rio De Janeiro Botanical Garden, Jardim das Palmeiras, Rua Jardim Botanico 1008, 12:00 pm
