Concerned Wig Lovers Send Brit a New Pink Bob to Replace the One Her Dad Took Away

Bellingham, WA (PRWEB) March 1, 2008 -- Upset by the news that Jamie Spears, Britney's father, confiscated the troubled pop star's infamous pink wig, organizers for the first national Wig Out Day have sent Brit a replacement.

"Wearing a wig lets you be somebody else for a while, and Britney clearly understands that," said Wig Out Day founder Kate Clark. "Now, more than ever, Britney could use some good clean fun. Sometimes a girl just has to get her wig on."

Britney's new pink wig has been shipped to the singer care of the William Morris Agency in Beverly Hills. "I know they have to screen all her mail. I just hope she gets it in time to wig out on May 23rd," said Clark. "I'll be checking the internet that day to see!"

Wig Out Day, described as Halloween with better weather, falls on the Friday before Memorial Day. The day is a celebration of wigs with one sole purpose: to have fun. Whether it's a foxy flip, a manly mullet or yes, a pink bob, a wig adds mystery and excitement to an otherwise ordinary day.

Wig Out Day was conceived in 2006 in a hot tub in Bellingham, Wash., by sisters Kate and Alice Clark. Last May hundreds of Hamsters, as Bellingham residents are known, went about their daily business wearing wigs and then gathered downtown for a promenade and party. This year, organizers hope to inspire Americans everywhere to get their wig on.
