Village TV Beefs up Gay Internet Television with Bigger, Better and Bolder Variety

Village TV, the gay TV channel on the internet, set to re-launch with new website design, television programming, high quality Flash video, live daily news, pay-per-view and video sharing service. With its award-winning 24-hour LIVE Channel for gay men, Village TV will open a new television studio in the gay entertainment capital of the world, West Hollywood, California.

West Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) March 1, 2008 -- Village TV Founder and President Corey Chambers is pleased to announce that final preparations are now being made for the "Official Re-launch" of Village TV. The revamped site will offer a new, sophisticated design, 100,000 additional of hours of new programming, a daily live variety show and daily live news from Village TV's new West Hollywood studio, high resolution Flash video, 25,000 pay-per-view features and an easy video sharing service.

Setting a new standard that has yet to be beat, Village TV was originally inaugurated in 1997, and remains the only 24 hour continuously steaming video channel on the internet devoted to the complete uncensored variety of TV shows, feature films, news, live events, documentaries, comedy, action, drama, experimental art, music videos, religious programming and erotica for gay men worldwide. After the introduction of its LIVE Channel in 2001, Village TV was named Best Webcast Site by Cybersocket Magazine.

Q-Tube is the Village TV channel on YouTube, which provides a link to our collection of videos and short films taken from the best moments of our previous years of programming
Now that internet video has gained widespread acceptance, as evidenced by the success of video sharing websites such as Youtube, the time is now ripe for the 10 year old Village TV to ascend to the next level. Having started with just $3,000 from student loans, the gay TV channel on the internet has risen to be the number one ranked gay TV website on Google. The modest startup has attracted thousands of paid subscibers, and is now valued at over $150,000 (a 5,000% increase) - and continues to grow.

When asked about what some anticipated to be competition from "YouTube," Chambers takes it all in stride. "The creation of 'YouTube' marked a critical mass of acceptance of popular internet video, but YouTube is not a gay TV channel, and does not offer non-stop 24-hour gay programming with thousands of full length TV shows and films for gay audiences." Referring to the fact that the average video posted on You Tube's has an average run of less than five minutes, he adds, "and YouTube censors what's allowed to be posted." In spite of this, Chambers has nothing but praise for the service, having even developed what he terms his own 'interface' between "You Tube" and Village TV called 'Q-Tube' in July of 2007. "Q-Tube is the Village TV channel on YouTube, which provides a link to our collection of videos and short films taken from the best moments of our previous years of programming," Chambers proclaims with more than a little pride; "In fact, our videos on 'Q-Tube' attract a larger audience who want to see larger, lengthier and more revealing shows on Village TV." Q-Tube can be accessed from both VillageTV.com and Youtube.com/villagegaytv

Then again, Chambers has always been known to look toward the future with exceptional confidence -- and this year he anticipates taking the entire concept to heights that most found unimaginable back in '97. Chambers is now offering a brilliant new opportunity for those eager to take part of the exploding internet television industry and profit from the thrills that come with being an affiliate Village TV partner. Affiliate partners are given control of their own turnkey Village TV website, complete with their own domain name, and get 50% commissions on all subscriptions generated through their website.

For those who want to be still more involved in gay internet television, Chambers is offering yet another option -- that of operating their own local Village TV affiliate with "stations" being made available to serve 40 of the top major metropolitan markets throughout the US, Canada and the UK. The local station owners will also be given the chance to create programs of unique interest to their own local communities as well as sharing in the advertising revenues specific to their area.

The transition to Flash video began in February, with the expected complete rollout of the new Village TV by November 2008. For more information, you can see a free entertaining video that tells the story of Village TV and outlines the affiliate business opportunity at www.villagetv.com
