'Mission to Mississippi' to Screen in NYC March 5
This documentary film, chronicling the journey of 55 volunteers through the Katrina-ravaged Gulf Coast, will be featured at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival
New York, NY (PRWEB) March 3, 2008 -- Mission to Mississippi will make its NYC debut on March 5, 2008 when it screens at the East Village Cinema as part of the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival.
The 43-minute film, produced, directed and edited by Lewis Stiefel (http://www.lewtubetv.com), chronicles the emotional and physical journey of 55 volunteers from the New York area on their mission to reconstruct homes (and lives) along the Katrina-ravaged Gulf Coast.
"Lewis Stiefel is a talented and passionate filmmaker. The footage captured is a poignant reminder of nature's wrath and the resilience of the human spirit and deserves wide exposure," says Stuart Alson, Independent Film Quarterly
CBS news correspondent, Dave Browde, narrates the film while Adam Hart composed the musical score.
"What is made abundantly clear in Stiefel's film is how volunteers from all across the country have picked up the ball -- dropped by the federal government, which victims say has been too slow in responding to the crisis," says Colleen Michele Jones, reporter, The Rivertowns Enterprise.
