Filmmaker Douglas Gayeton to Support Groundbreaking "Molotov Alva" as HBO Prepares for Distribution

Pioneering filmmaker Douglas Gayeton today announced that he will focus full-time on promoting and supporting his documentary feature "Molotov Alva and His Search for the Creator: A Second Life Odyssey." The film was acquired by HBO in late 2007 and will be appearing at several film festivals in 2008, beginning with SXSW in Austin in mid-March, and has attracted mounting attention as HBO prepares to air the piece late this spring.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 7, 2008 -- Pioneering filmmaker Douglas Gayeton today announced that he will focus full-time on promoting and supporting his documentary feature "Molotov Alva and His Search for the Creator: A Second Life Odyssey." The film was acquired by HBO in late 2007 and will be appearing at several film festivals in 2008, beginning with SXSW in Austin in mid-March, and has attracted mounting attention as HBO prepares to air the piece late this spring.

In shifting towards full-time promotion of "Molotov Alva" and in preparation for subsequent projects, Gayeton (www.gayeton.com) will be leaving his position as Chief Creative Officer at Millions of Us LLC, a San Francisco-based agency specializing in virtual worlds and large online communities. During his tenure at Millions of Us, Gayeton has played a critical role in defining and extending the agency's services in three areas: social media content, machinima / film production, and user experience design for virtual worlds.

"Molotov Alva" was the first machinima ever screened at the Cannes Film Festival and is the first piece of its kind to be acquired for distribution as a television series. Prior to joining Millions of Us, Gayeton also worked with MTV on their virtual world initiatives and has long helped to expand the technical frontiers of art, design and film production.

"Douglas has helped us significantly broaden our in-house production capabilities as we help drive the convergence between virtual worlds and the entertainment industry; his contribution has left us well-positioned to take advantage of several promising opportunities," said Reuben Steiger, CEO, Millions of Us. "We wish him the best and will be closely following the success of 'Molotov Alva' and the similarly innovative work that will surely follow."

"Millions of Us has grown into a company spread across nearly a dozen platforms. It took lots of hard work, dedication, and a truly unique vision," said Gayeton. "It was a thrill to creatively guide Millions of Us' growth to this critical point, and I'm confident the company is just getting started in creating and redefining the markets where it competes."
