We would like to take the time to personally congratulate our winners. 2007 was a great year and there was tremendous talent to select from. For the year of 2007 we decided to conduct our competition a little different. Entries were by randomly invited to participate at no charge to the entrant.
All invited entrants did not pay one penny to enter our competition. Why did we do this? It is to prove to you that in years to come, SongPrize.com is about helping songwriters reach new heights and be a catalyst to helping open up new doors within the music industry for our talented winners. SongPrize.com winners with their awards under their belts will find that it is easier to book higher quality shows and people will take a songwriter or act more seriously once they have seen their accomplishments.
Too many Songwriting Competitions are only concerned about the money. Since SongPrize.com did not accept ANY money from any of the 2007 competition entrants, we have proven that we are not about the money but about helping Songwriters grow. We also decided this year to award the top 3 Songwriters / Acts and did not select 10 honorable mentions as we normally do. Our reasoning, as no money was accepted for the 2007 competition, we want to be able to help the top 3 winners with the most effective promotion possible and focus our resources on promoting their wins.
Please visit www.SongPrize.com. For the 2008 6th Annual Competition, we will begin once again charging entry fees once again. This helps us to promote future winners and upcoming honorable mentions more effectively as we will have more monetary resources at our disposal to ensure this. In addition, this will allow us to offer increasingly better promotional prizes for the winners of the SongPrize.com International Songwriting Competition.
We wish you the best in the 2008's 6th Annual Songwriting Competition and remember "Put Your Best Songs Forward". Thank you.
