Two Architecture Firm Employees Earn Healthcare Construction Certifications

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) March 24, 2008 -- Rees Associates, Inc., an Oklahoma City planning, interiors and architecture firm, is proud to announce that two of its employees have earned certificates in healthcare construction.
Stephen E. Lawson, AIA, and Kathy W. Potts, Assoc. AIA have each earned Healthcare Construction Certificates (HCC) from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE).
To earn this distinction, participants are required to attend a two-day educational seminar that covers technological advancements in healthcare construction, safety and security issues, and other risk factors involved with healthcare construction. In addition, they must complete a prerequisite e-learning program.
"These certificates are a testament to REES' commitment to excellence in healthcare planning and design through continuing education," said Lawson. "Our certification by ASHE means that our clients know that they are getting the most innovative, safety-conscious design possible."
Stephen Lawson is the Healthcare Specialty Segment Leader of Rees Associates. He is an Associate of the firm and is a registered Architect in Oklahoma and New Jersey. He holds a Master's Degree from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Buffalo. Since joining the REES team in 2005, Stephen has been instrumental in numerous projects, including Saint Clare's Health System in northern New Jersey and the Sisters of Mercy Health System based in Saint Louis.
Kathy Potts is a Vice President of Rees Associates and has been with the firm for fourteen years. She has recently worked on projects for the OU-Tulsa Schusterman Center and Weatherford Regional Hospital, as well as contributing to marketing efforts in pursuit of future healthcare projects. Kathy is a member of both the American institute of Architects and the American Hospital Association, and is certified in Infection Control during construction and renovation by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE).
