Whiskers in the Jar: Irish Songs for Cat Lovers -- The Long Awaited Follow Up Album to Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers Has Been Announced

The long awaited follow up to what began as a love affair between Celtic music and cats for Celtic singer/songwriter Marc Gunn is finally in the works with the upcoming release of his second album "Whiskers in the Jar: Irish Songs for Cat Lovers". What began as an joke while on the phone in 2003 has become a project that celebrates cats and Celtic songs from the immensely popular first album: "Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers" (2005), to the soon-to-be-released "Whiskers in the Jar: Irish Songs for Cat Lovers" (2008). Gunn was in the studio in February, to record this long awaited follow up to his original and very successful album.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) March 11, 2008 -- The long awaited follow up to what began as a love affair between Celtic music and cats for Celtic singer/songwriter Marc Gunn is finally in the works with the upcoming release of his second album "Whiskers in the Jar: Irish Songs for Cat Lovers".

The soul of these albums is Gunn's uncanny ability to take traditional Irish songs and spin them to celebrate the cat. A long time cat lover, the songwriter is adept at giving us a "cat's eye" perspective of these classic ditties. According to Gunn, "I never imagined people would love this concept as much as they did. I just did it, because I love Celtic music, and I love cats."

The second album is due to be released in the fall of 2008 and represents a collaboration between Gunn and his cat-loving fans, as half of the songs on the album were contributed by fans of the "Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers". This labor of love is completely financed by Gunn and dependent on donations from kindred spirits. Those who are so inclined can help complete this noble tribute to our feline friends by pre-ordering the new CD or adopting the first release at www.catdrinkingsongs.com/adopt_it.shtml . It's that simple. And your money goes a long way to helping an independent musician continue to sustain this pet project. The CD is currently slated for a May 2008 release.

Those who are interested in updates on the album's progress may subscribe to "Cat Drinking Tails", a newsletter published by Marc's cat Torre or read his Cat Music Blog and Cat Lovers Podcast. Both are available online www.catdrinkingsongs.com. There's always something interesting going on in each.

For the anointed, this new release will be a welcome addition to your drinking cats collection. For the newcomer, why wait; there is already a great album to listen to and you still have time to catch up before the release of Gunn's new work.
