Out on the Town Magazine Fan Poll Recognizes Cindy Margolis as Internet's Most Influential Person
Fan poll ranks MySpace and YouTube a distant second and third place behind Margolis
(PRWEB) March 10, 2008 --Out on the Town magazine, a Philadelphia-based entertainment guide, has released results of its fan pole rating the top five influences ever on the Internet. 168,000 readers weighed in and voted Internet super star Cindy Margolis as the most influential person ever on the Internet. Mike Vagnoni, editor in chief of Out on the Town says, "The margin of victory was overwhelming for Cindy Margolis. She eventually garnered 65 percent of the votes."
Margolis rocketed to fame in 1996 as she pioneered the Internet's most popular celebrity site and earned the titled Most DownLoaded Woman on the Net. In 2000 the Guinness Book of records dedicated a half page to Margolis proclaiming her the Most Downloaded Woman. "Longevity seems to be the key with Margolis," says Vagnoni. "She's managed to take her 15 minutes of fame and build a Hollywood career out of it." In 2007 Margolis posed nude for the first time in Playboy and in 2008 released her first book, Having a baby When the Old Fashioned Way isn't Working. The book is a self help guide for people with infertility. She recently was seen on the Starz network's Head Case and on E!'s Hottest Women of the Web.
