Hard Rock album "The Avenging Force", recorded by Steve Albini, out Mon 7th April.

Liverpudlian hard rock debut album from Avenging Force recorded by Steve Albini. The album is now available online.

Liverpool, UK (PRWEB) March 11, 2008 -- Steve Albini today announced the release of the new "Avenging Force" album, available on Sea Records label, on Monday, April 7. For more information on the album, visit the band's Web site at Avenging Force.

"Avenging Force" is a full-throttle three-piece rock band from Liverpool who formed over a mutual obsession with The Who's Live At Leeds. They play rock the way it was meant to be played: loud, hard, fast and sweaty. Although there are echoes of Big Star, Rocket From The Tombs, Goblin, The Monks, Lalo Schifrin and Santana in their music, the main influence is the mantra that Pete Townshend once believed in: power and volume.

With catchy two-minute gems (Rob Lee II, Seventeen And, Jill and Paddy) alongside massive, crunching rock grooves (Big Buddy, You Little Superstar Yeah Baby That's What You Are, Bootle Girls), the album clocks in at a lean, muscular thirty-five minutes. Two standout tracks here are classic-in-the-making Muscle Man and the never-say-die rock anthem Losing My Hair.

Recorded by Steve Albini in Chicago this, their debut album, captures in brutal detail the band's ferocious, sometimes intricate, relentless riffs and hard rock. Avenging Force are not pissing about with irony, fashion or computers: this is a band committed to the riff, dedicated to the rock how it used to be made - when men were men and amps were amps, and drummers twatted their drums like their lives depended on it. And tigers roamed the streets on motorbikes.

Note: this album does not follow the modern trend of being mastered to the loudest overall volume possible at the expense of dynamics and sonic depth. It was lovingly mastered by Bob Weston in Chicago with the listener's enjoyment and the music's aural integrity as paramount concerns. Therefore, readers may want to turn it up just that extra bit. Then turn it up some more.

The album launch will be hosted at The Magnet, Liverpool on April 5 with various UK dates to follow.
