Dealers Report Cost Savings of 65-70% After DMS Conversions to Auto/Mate Dealership Systems' AMPS

Auto/Mate Dealership Systems, ranked the highest for overall customer satisfaction in the last three NADA surveys, announced today that dealerships converting to the company's Automotive Productivity Management Suite (AMPS) are drastically reducing support and maintenance costs associated with dealer management systems. Many dealers have reported savings of 65-75% compared to the amount they were previously paying.

Clifton Park, NY (PRWEB) March 11, 2008 -- Auto/Mate Dealership Systems, ranked the highest for overall customer satisfaction in the last three NADA surveys, announced today that dealerships converting to the company's Automotive Productivity Management Suite (AMPS) are drastically reducing support and maintenance costs associated with dealer management systems. Many dealers have reported savings of 65-75% compared to the amount they were previously paying.

Rhode Island dealership Fiore Pontiac GMC Volkswagen switched to AMPS in mid-2006, and General Manager Ron Fiore hasn't looked back since. "The key issues we had were cost, support and we wanted more flexibility than our old system had," he said. Since the conversion, Fiore estimates they have achieved their return on investment (ROI) including all acquisition related costs. "The monthly bill (including software, maintenance and support costs) is easily 65-70% less than what we were paying previously," he said, noting that Auto/Mate has been very responsive to the dealership's requests and the support has been excellent.

The consensus was that we were paying too much for the old system. It was very rich in features but we didn't use most of them
Additionally, AMPS provides Fiore Pontiac GMC Volkswagen with all the features and functionality required by the dealership, and employees enjoy its contemporary feel and the ability to easily export data into Windows applications. "Given all the factors, we would make the same decision a year later," Fiore said.

Just over a year ago, senior managers at Valley Auto Group in Minnesota decided it was time to look for a new DMS vendor. Bob Vine is the controller for the Apple Valley store and spearheaded the effort to choose a new system. "The consensus was that we were paying too much for the old system. It was very rich in features but we didn't use most of them," says Vine. "We believed there was another solution that would provide all the features we needed but at a lower monthly cost."

After a review of several top DMS vendors, Vine chose Auto/Mate's AMPS. The company offers AMPS in both an ASP and server format, and Valley Auto Group's team chose the server because they wanted to have physical control over the system and information. One server was sufficient for all four stores.

Six months after implementation, Valley Auto Group has achieved their return on investment. "The monthly bill (including all software, maintenance and support costs) is less than one third of what we were paying," Vine said. "In addition, the four stores combined are saving about $4,000 a month as a result of eliminating the need to purchase pre-printed forms." The AMPS system offers numerous standard forms, and Auto/Mate can create custom forms that are printed out on plain paper using standard printers.

Finally, one of the main advantages that dealers realize when they switch to AMPS is the lack of a long-term contract. Most dealers are familiar with the stress typically associated with approaching the end of a five-year contract with DMS vendors. "You know the rates are going to go up and you know you're going to have to spend a small fortune in new equipment," said Vine.

Auto/Mate does not require long-term contracts, and the system is compatible with most computer hardware that dealerships already have in place. Once a dealership becomes a customer of Auto/Mate, it receives all new upgrades and versions of AMPS at no additional cost.

About Auto/Mate
Auto/Mate Dealership Systems was established 25 years ago with a simple goal: to provide an efficient and reasonably priced computer system to increase dealers' profitability. Designed by former auto dealer executives, AMPS (Automotive Management Productivity Suite) by Auto/Mate offers more than 20 fully integrated modules to suit any size dealership and to address every need, including Sales, F&I, Fixed Operations, Accounting, CRM, Fleet Sales and more. Auto/Mate's success has led to a continuous growth rate of more than 30% per year, with its system currently in use by more than 400 dealers. In three combined surveys conducted by NADA, Auto/Mate has ranked the highest in customer satisfaction over any other dealer system.

AMPS by Auto/Mate Dealership Systems is powerful, scalable and has a unique, graphical interface that makes it familiar and easy to use. AMPS is an open system and will run on most computer hardware that a dealer has in place. When compared to other systems on the market, AMPS offers the most value per dollar, allowing dealerships to operate more efficiently and profitably.
