Stunning Novel Tells the True Story of the Soldiers Who Photographed the Terrifying Events of World War II

Camera Soldiers: The Philippine Odyssey by James R. Stephens is a fact-based novel about the lives and adventures of soldiers whose wartime job was photography.

Spanaway, Wash. (PRWEB) March 13, 2008 -- Camera Soldiers: The Philippine Odyssey by James R. Stephens brings to life the brave soldiers who put their lives on the line by taking their cameras to the battlefield. Vivid and moving, Camera Soldiers is a testament to these often forgotten heroes.

These photographers became easy targets with their cameras, and suffered casualty rates as high as 50 percent. In Camera Soldiers: The Philippine Odyssey, Stephens creates indelible portraits of the people whose job it was to record the horrors of war.

Concentrating his focus on the Pacific War of 1944, Stephens gives an astonishing human perspective to these camera soldiers. Filled with humor, adventure, and romance, Camera Soldiers: The Philippine Odyssey immortalizes these unsung heroes in a page-turning story. Whether readers are military history buffs, photographers, or just people searching for an incredible read, Camera Soldiers: The Philippine Odyssey reminds readers that every photograph or film had a photographer or cameraman risking his life to record scenes of war.
