Triple Diamond Energy Spuds the McClure-Diamond No.1 Well

Oil and gas drilling company Triple Diamond Energy begins drilling of a prospective well in Garvin County Oklahoma.

Addison, TX (PRWEB) March 14, 2008 -- Triple Diamond Energy Corp. (TDEC) announced today the 'spud' of McClure Diamond #1 well, the first well of the McClure Diamond No. 1 project in Garvin County, Oklahoma.

In an oil drilling project, spudding marks the first entry of the drill into the earth at the point of a prospective oil well. Prior to the spudding of the McClure-Diamond No. 1 well, Triple Diamond Energy Corp. conducted extensive geological studies and analyzed past oil drilling performance throughout the Garvin County Oklahoma area.

Oklahoma is a very active region for oil - and particularly Garvin County. We anticipate that the oil reserve under the McClure Diamond No. 1 prospect to exist at intervals between 3,200 and 5,000 feet below the earth's surface
"Oklahoma is a very active region for oil - and particularly Garvin County. We anticipate that the oil reserve under the McClure Diamond No. 1 prospect to exist at intervals between 3,200 and 5,000 feet below the earth's surface," says Robert Jent, President of Triple Diamond Energy Corp.

The primary objectives of the McClure Diamond #1 well include the Pennsylvanian age 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Tuley sands of the Hoxbar formation, as well as the lower 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Deese Sands of the Deese formation.

Soil samples, called "core" samples, will be taken every 10 feet of the drilling process and will be analyzed by Triple Diamond Energy geologists. Geologists evaluate the samples and make the determination about the probability of the presence of oil in the prospective well. As the drill comes closer to total depth of 5,000 feet, samples will be evaluated every 5 feet.

Jent estimates that the drilling process will last approximately eight to ten days. If oil is found, Triple Diamond Energy will begin the process of completing and equipping the well so that oil may be extracted and transported.

About Triple Diamond Energy: Triple Diamond Energy Corp. is engaged in the acquisition and development of high quality verifiable oil and gas reserves with a primary focus to obtain undervalued producing properties with optimal life potential at the lowest possible cost. Triple Diamond Energy is a privately held corporation located in Dallas, TX.
