Young Author Delivers Thrilling Story About Soul-Stealing Mass Murderer

The main character in "The Sacred Sin" is rough-around-the-edges detective Jude Foster. Jude is a true anti-hero: the kind of character that readers love to hate, but still cheer on to succeed. He's irritable, insubordinate, cynical, on the brink of a mental crash, and to makes matters worse, he was left for dead by his ex-partner and friend just a year ago. As a detective in Southern California, Jude comes face to face with some very dark issues on a daily basis, but at the same time, he's battling against his own inner darkness, as well.

Jude's inner struggles play just as key a role in the novel as his detective work, bringing a level of introspective depth to "The Sacred Sin" that's not normally found in the horror or thriller genre. In "The Sacred Sin," Jude is forced to join together with a new, female partner named Rachel Cragin. Naturally, Jude is very wary of Rachel and finds her incredibly annoying, but Rachel is not one to be walked over, and she makes sure to give Jude a run for his money. Their first case together begins when a cruciform-branded body is found in West Hollywood, along with a note, a verse and bloodstained letters.

Jude quickly realizes that this murderer is the exact same serial killer he and his ex-partner chased for years, but never caught. The bloody letters found with the body were left as clues, pieces of a puzzle that is slowly revealed as more people are killed in the same fashion. "The Sacred Sin" reaches nail-biting suspense when Rachel and Jude discover that the killer is actually stealing its victims' souls, without ever touching their bodies. The incompatible detective pair has to work fast and think outside the box to solve this terrifying mystery and answer the most unusual question of their career: How do you catch a spirit?
