Techno Plague Threatens Human Existence in New Thriller

Author Clare Turpen recreates events of the bubonic plague in her modern interpretation, Ashes Ashes We All Fall Down.

Fort Polk, LA (PRWEB) March 20, 2008 -- Ashes Ashes We All Fall Down by Clare Turpen is a savvy techno-thriller that draws its roots, paradoxically, from events that took place hundreds of years ago. Inspired by the true story of lovers separated by quarantine during the last bout of the bubonic plague, Turpen wrote a modern day parallel, adding the creative complexity of a technological epidemic threatening all life.

The book draws intriguing parallels between this non-viral epidemic and the bubonic plague. The heroine is haunted by the nursery rhyme "Ashes Ashes" in the back of her mind, her dreams; even her computer seems possessed by the eerie mantra that also brings back her memories of a troubled past.

Turpen is a master of foreshadowing and adroitly combines the technical world in which her heroine lives with her almost supernatural sense of foreboding in much the same way that she parallels past and present, illustrating both how history repeats itself and that the most important human values remain the same over time.
