Southern novelist, Darlene Ford Wofford recognized for "Edgewise: An Assignment to Remember" in international contest.

The award was presented based on submission of "Edgewise: An Assignment to Remember," the first of three novels planned for her "Edgewise" series. While the book was awarded '2007 Best Autobiography,' it has attracted international attention to the author's writing in addition to generating local interest by the Atlanta media. Told through the eyes of the author's alter ego, "An Assignment to Remember" is not as much about the events as it is the inspiring story about triumph over tragedy, her healing progression and the prevailing strength of unconditional love. Based on true events in the her life, "An Assignment to Remember" is the first of three novels in the author's "Edgewise" series, with "Seven Years 'Til Sunrise," scheduled for release later this year, followed by the third in 2009-10.
