Moondoggers to Hear Locally-Made Drum; Drummer, Andy Korn Incorporates Trash Kat Drum in Kit Accompanying the Seductive Voice of Ronnie Spector at the 2008 Moondog Coronation Ball

Andy Korn, drummer for legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, Ronnie Spector, has added a locally crafted Trash Kat drum to his kit for the March 29th performance of Ms. Spector and The Ronettes at the 2008 Moondog Coronation Ball held at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

Cleveland, Ohio (PRWEB) March 21, 2008 -- For one suburban drum maker, Brunswick Hills based ThunderEcho Drum Company, the sound of the 1960's will be up close and personal. The 2008 Moondog Coronation Ball at Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena on March 29th will not only feature performers Peter & Gordon, B J Thomas, Lou Christie, the 5th Dimension and Ronnie Spector, Ms. Spector's drummer, Andy Korn, will include ThunderEcho's custom Trash Kat drum in his kit.

Mr. Korn has been accompanying Ronnie Spector's sensuous vocal style for the past 14 years.

The Trash Kat gives me the sound I am looking for to be true to these classic tunes.
Ronnie Spector, as lead singer of The Ronettes, the ultimate girl-group of the mid-sixties, recorded a long string of classic pop hits, earning their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Their powerful, poignant teen anthem, "Walking in the Rain" won a Grammy Award and "Be My Baby," an international smash hit has the distinction of being named as one of the top fifty greatest recordings by Rolling Stone magazine.

The 1963 "Be My Baby" recording is also the quintessential expression of record producer Phil Spector's unique music production technique called the "wall of sound," the audio backdrop against which the lead singers were placed. A large group of musicians were assembled in the studio, backup vocal and orchestral instrument soundtracks were doubled and multiplied, and this sonic wall was thickened further through echo chamber effects. Timpani were used to augment the bass guitar and drums for transitions from verse to chorus which created an epic introduction to that section of the tune.

When performing live with Ms. Spector, Andy Korn utilizes the timp-like fullness of the Trash Kat drum. Mr. Korn states, "The Trash Kat gives me the sound I am looking for to be true to these classic tunes."

ThunderEcho Drum Co. has been building and selling the Trash Kat drum nationally since 2001. Owner and inventor Kevin Reed, designed the drum as part of his rehabilitation from a catastrophic, traumatic brain injury.
