Dallas Dentist Invents New Way to Store Recipes

Dallas entrepreneur launches new business with her patent-pending Recipe Nest™, offering cooks and foodies a neat, new way to tame that pile of downloaded recipes and magazine clippings.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 21, 2008 -- Joan Chamberlain, a Dallas dentist, has invented the Recipe Nest™, redefining recipe storage for the 21st century. Her new business, Recipe Relish (http://www.reciperelish.com), addresses the problem of what to do with that unruly stack of full-page recipes printed off of websites, torn out of magazines, or collected from any number of sources available in print form.

Why hasn't someone thought of this before?
With the rapid growth of food-related websites and availability of online recipes, Chamberlain saw a need for a product that combines the size of a 3-ring binder with the ease of a recipe box. The patent-pending Recipe Nest™ is a result of a prototype that she created using a looseleaf notebook, cardboard and duct tape.

"I wanted a box that you just drop your papers into without punching holes or cutting out recipe cards. Just as important, I wanted it to look good -- none of those gingham checks and potted herbs that scream 1960."

She added function to her recipe "box" with a clip on the front, and an easel on the back which allow for hands-free reference while cooking. Chamberlain found a manufacturer in the U.S. and is producing Recipe Nests™ in bright colors and rich metallics -- all in spillproof patent vinyl designed to coordinate with modern kitchen décor.

Chamberlain launched Recipe Nest™ at the World Trade Center in Dallas in January, 2008 to an enthusiastic response, and the proverbial "Why hasn't someone thought of this before?" With other designs in the works, she plans to expand the line and offer a variety of products that give modern cooks a fun, new way to store recipes.

About Joan Chamberlain: A dentist for 27 years, Chamberlain decided to turn her love of cooking and organizing into a business that combines both. An entrepreneur at heart, Recipe Nest™ developed as a product that she wanted for her personal use, but couldn't find on the market. The response she got from friends convinced her to offer it to the public.
