Author Releases Third Novel in Fourteen-Book Biblical Series

Takes a look at the early church from the viewpoint of the Romans

Longwood, FL (PRWEB) March 23, 2008 -- The third publication in Ellen Whitman Bynum's 14-book series, The Promise-Keeper: The Story of Pilate, Claudia, Paronius, and the Early Church (paperback, 978-1-60477-624-9) has just been released in bookstores. The story tells the tale of Pilate who, obsessed with hidden guilt for his condemnation of Jesus, feels threatened at the coming of the Holy Spirit to the believers on the Day of Pentecost and believes the "Jewish" God has come back to kill him for causing the death of God's Son. When Pilate learns his wife Claudia is miraculously pregnant, he fears for her and their unborn child. But will Pilate be able to humble himself before God in time to enjoy the blessings He has bestowed upon him?

Says Bynum, "(My book) is refreshingly different, true to life, and humanly appealing--and at the same time, biblically and historically accurate. It makes my readers feel as if they have gone back in time as one personally experiencing the events in the first six chapters of Acts."

The author credits her lifelong interest in storytelling and novels with religious themes as the impetus for her writing this book. In 1990 and 1992, she and her husband made two guided tours to the Holy Land, where she visited the sites featured in The Promise-Keeper. Ever since then, she has intensively studied the Bible, using it as the basis for her 14-book series that focuses on the early church (told from the viewpoint of the Romans) from 32 through 42 A.D.

Ellen Whitnum Bynum is a retired teacher of languages--Spanish, French, and English.
