Alvarez Writes Compelling Book 'From Nothing to Something': The Story of a Family Who Dared to Obey God
Apostolic conference speaker and writer, Mary Clark Alvarez, writes an intriguing book detailing her family's obedience to God told through the viewpoints of her four children.
Miami, FL (PRWEB) March 25, 2008 -- Holy Fire Publishing announces the release of 'From Nothing to Something' (Paperback, US$13.99, ISBN# 978-1-60383-048-5). Apostolic conference speaker and writer, Mary Clark Alvarez, writes about a modern-day family (her own) that obeyed God and gave away everything they owned to follow Him in obedience. From Nothing to Something is their faith testimony of the past 14 years.
Alvarez's book reveals God's hand in their lives as He led them to legally give away most of what they owned: a paid-off condominium and much of their belongings. In April of 1997, they put 52 boxes in storage and packed up nine duffel bags not knowing where God would lead them. The family of six ended up in New Mexico, far from their previous home in Miami, and later went to Africa to preach the gospel.
In early May they arrived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with little money, and Alvarez's husband, Jose, paid for one week in a motel. The Alvarezes believed in never asking anybody for anything and never telling anyone if you have a need. They have always believed, "We ask God and He provides." 'From Nothing to Something' tells many miracles of provision, some of which are reminiscent of the story about Elijah and the ravens.
'From Nothing to Something' reveals the God of the impossible to a generation struggling with unbelief. The book, written through Alvarez's children's eyes, shows faith in action. According to Alvarez, the cost of a willingness to forsake all that is ours for the sake of the gospel has not changed from the days in which the Bible was penned.
"I would like to target believers of every nation and every generation, and give them an example of how they can reach their God-given destinies through step by step obedience to the voice of the Holy Spirit," says Mary Clark Alvarez.
Mary Clark Alvarez, 51, is an apostolic conference speaker and writer, who along with her husband Jose, ministers globally in Bible teaching, prophecies, healing, and signs and wonders. She is involved with "Safari Through the Word Ministries" which is her and her husband's personal ministry. The couple also teaches Bible conferences globally in an expositional setting, utilizing the original Hebrew and Greek languages to meet the needs of the churches where they minister. The Alvarezes have four children: Alexandria, 18; Hannah, 17; Sarah, 15; and Timothy, 13, whose stories were told through their viewpoints.
The Alvarezes will be presenting a teaching and healing conference in Albuquerque in early April 2008. Another teaching and healing conference is planned in southern Ohio in late April. Future conferences are scheduled for east Africa. Their Web site is www.thepattern.org .
