The Country Club of St. Albans Makes its Movie Debut

"Meet Bill" will be released to theaters in St. Louis and Minneapolis April 4; The Country Club of St. Albans is one of the featured locations in the film.

St. Louis (PRWEB) March 31, 2008 -- Golf courses and country clubs are often the settings for top-level tournaments, charity events and elegant affairs. Tucked in the hills overlooking the Missouri River, The Country Club of St. Albans is now the scenic backdrop for a major motion picture, "Meet Bill," due out in theaters in St. Louis and Minneapolis April 4. This represents the club's first-ever appearance in a national film.

"The Country Club of St. Albans is punctuated with a very majestic landscape and visually appealing interiors that can be appreciated by anyone, especially those in the film industry," said David Pendy, general manager at The Country Club of St. Albans. "We were delighted to host the crew and its distinguished cast, and we look forward to seeing the movie come to fruition."

The cast and crew of "Meet Bill" filmed for two days on location at St. Albans and in other regional locations in 2006. Scenes were shot in the Lewis & Clark dining room, under the club's signature porte-cochere, around the grounds and on the golf courses.

Officials at The Country Club of St. Albans affectionately call a side portion of the property the "Alba Lawn," after Jessica Alba, an American actress who stars in the film with credits that include Dark Angel," "Sin City," "Fantastic Four," "Into the Blue," and 2007's "Good Luck Chuck." Alba spent several days filming at that particular location.

Ranked among the top 100 Platinum Clubs of America, the prestigious Country Club of St. Albans offers two 18-hole championship golf courses, competitive and recreational tennis and swimming and award-winning epicurean dining. St. Albans' courses are nationally ranked by Golf Digest magazine for beauty, conditioning, ambiance and difficulty, among other attributes. The club, which has experienced positive membership growth over the past 10 years, is a contemporary destination set against 5,400 scenic acres of rolling hills and spectacular vistas of the Missouri River in West St. Louis County.
