Angel Handbags New Additions Bring New Addictions

This month, Angel Handbags, an online retailer of designer handbag brands, announces a focus on newer, up-and-coming designer brands (in existence 5 years or less). The company also re-launched its website, www.angelhandbags.com with new functionality and design.

Fairfax, VA (Vocus/PRWEB ) March 29, 2008 -- Angel Handbags, an online retailer of designer handbag brands, this month has refocused its inventory on newer, up-and-coming designers. The company seeks to target designers who have been in existence for five years or less. Prior to the new focus, the company's inventory consisted largely of well-established brands like Kenneth Cole and Maxx New York; each of these brands has been around for 20-plus years. "The designer handbag marketplace is becoming increasingly competitive and cluttered," says Angel Handbags President and CEO ReShon Anderson. "Most retailers are focused on the ?it' bag that everyone is wearing, when actually the newer designers bring so much more creativity and intricacy to their designs." Anderson also mentions that the company frequently scouts out newer designer talent at trade shows and other fashion sources like the famed Daily Candy email newsletter.

In addition to the new inventory, the company has completely re-designed the site and added new features including the ability to rate and review a handbag, online order tracking, and a one-page checkout. The newly launched website, AngelHandbags.com simplifies the buying process. "Our customers are savvy, they know what they like. We've designed the site to accommodate them whether they have time to browse or just a few minutes to make their selection," says Anderson. Consumers can also choose handbags that are functional as well as fashionable, like the company's extensive collection of stylish laptop bags. The company will soon feature a line of eco-friendly handbags.

New designers recently signed on to Angel Handbags include:

Helena de Natalio
Designed by Helen Hoppcock, the line was inspired when the designer was a Peace Corps volunteer in South America. Launched in 2005, the bags are handcrafted by artisans in Argentina. The designer personally ensures that fair wages, healthy work environments and no child labor are in used in the production of the accessories and donates a percentage of proceeds each year to an Argentinean non-profit.

Bella Nova Handbags
Launched in 2007, Bella Nova handbags are designed by Layla Nowain. Italian for "beautiful star", Bella Nova is also a truncated part of Layla's last name, which when properly pronounced in Farsi sounds like -- nova-in. Launching with only six samples at The Project Trade Show in Las Vegas, Layla was delighted by the resoundingly positive reception from the buyers. Manufactured entirely in the US, Bella Nova handbags are sleek and distinctly shaped while being effortlessly sophisticated.

Alexis Hudson
Rachelle Copeland and Emily Ironi, the brains behind the beautiful Alexis Hudson Handbag collection, bring over 15 years of industry experience to the fresh, young brand industry insiders immediately labeled "one to watch." Copeland and Ironi spent years learning the business of accessory design and sales, and in 2005 they pooled their talents to launch the collection whose name pays homage to Copeland's five year-old daughter Alexis, and Ironi's "baby" German Wirehaired Pointer Hudson. From the word go, the Alexis Hudson partners had a clear cut vision for their brand and have seen their vision through to reality: creating the "perfect bag" and providing "absolute therapy for handbag addicts."
