Washington, DC (PRWEB) April 2, 2008 -- Two Baltimore- Washington-area interior designers, Sherry Burton-Ways and Susan Featherstone-Schemm of Design Scheme Interiors, LLC, have launched a new Internet Radio Show. Their show, "Inside Design," will air on Internet Radio WFLO (www.im4radiodc.com) on Fridays, April 4 and 18 and every other Friday morning from 10:30 am to 12 noon EDT.
The 90-minute show, originating from Largo, MD, includes a mix of talk and music. The music is urban contemporary, jazz and neo-soul. The talk is about interior decorating with a special guest appearing on each show.
"The music matches the feel of our design," say Ways. "We're primarily very contemporary designers."
Cleveland Spears, general manager of WFLO, describes the program as "HGTV for radio. It is an exciting show, designed to inform people about home décor. A lot of people are very excited about it." The show premiered on March 21.
Guests Drawn from Across the Country
"This is not just local programming," says Ways. "On our first shows we are bringing in guests from South Carolina, New York City and Washington State to create a more robust conversation."
Co-hosts and guests answer questions from listeners, who can email their questions or design problems to insidedesign@im4radiodc.com. Also, listeners may call in directly to participate in the discussion at 301-560-6992 (inside the metro Washington area) or 1-866-856-5903 (outside the metro Washington area).
"We started this show because there is nothing out there like it," says Ways. "We're offering an opportunity for people to hear live discussions about design issues. You can interact. You can contact us instantaneously."
- The theme of the April 4 show will be "Painting Your Home 101" with special guest, Harvey Custis of Custis & Sons, Inc, a home improvement and painting company in Germantown, MD.
- On April 18, Keith Ware, vice president of Eco-Green Living in Washington, D.C., will be interviewed about "Greening Your Home."
- On May 2, Dana Tucker, publisher and editor of "How We Live," a new African American lifestyle magazine published in South Carolina, will discuss "African American Home Design Trends."
Leatrice Eiseman, author, international color expert, executive director of the Pantone Institute and director of the Eiseman Center for Color Information and Training, will be interviewed by Ways and Schemm on June 13. The subject will be "Future Color Trends in Interior Design." For a listing of other future shows, visit www.designschemeinteriors.com/insidedesign/.
The two designing women have been working on the concept of the radio show for a year. They attended broadcasting school for six weeks to learn how to produce a radio show and how to be on-air personalities. "The equipment is the same as most radio stations," says Ways, "except that it is sent out over the Internet."
