WOOZYFLY Launches Contest for Bands to Win a $150,000 Recording, Promotion, and Distribution Deal

The music media and social-networking website WOOZYFLY.com will be hosting an unsigned band contest entitled WOOZY IDOL, offering all unsigned bands a chance to win a RECORDING, DISTRIBUTION, and PROMOTION contract valued at up to $150,000.

New York, NY (Billboard Publicity Wire/PRWEB ) April 2, 2008 -- Running until May 15, 2008, Woozyfly.com will offer an amazing opportunity to all unsigned bands and artists in the first ever Woozy Idol contest. The winner will work with the best in the business to record, distribute, and promote the band worthy of the title Woozy Idol.

Woozy Idol is open to bands and artists of all genres. All bands have to do to enter is create a band profile page on Woozyfly.com, upload their original music, and tweak the page. It's that simple.

One grand prize winner will be selected by a panel of industry veteran judges composed of:

The winner will be selected based on the following criteria:

- Forty percent (40%) on the quality of the music audio and video content uploaded to profile
- Forty percent (40%) on the number of fans on profile
- Ten percent (10%) on the creativity of the profile design and layout
- Ten percent (10%) on the number of fan comments left on the profile page

In conjunction with JSM Music, Woozyfly.com will provide the winner with the following prize package:

- 10 hours of studio time at JSM Music Studios in NYC during which the Sponsor's professional sound engineers will record your musical performances (the "Session");
- Ownership of the musical files recorded during the Session, including master recordings of each song performed during the Session, professionally mixed by the Sponsor's professional mixers (the "Winner's Masters");
- A professional video shoot (the "Shoot") recorded during the Session, of your performance of one or more of the songs performed during the Session;
- Ownership of the video footage recorded during the Shoot, and of one (1) professional, edited and mixed video produced by Sponsor from the footage taken during the Shoot (the "Winner's Video");
- A DVD master copy of the Winner's Video;
