(PRWEB) April 2, 2008 -- Think going green is time-consuming and costly? Think again. Check out this week's episode of Six Minute Style (www.sixminutestyle.com) for easy and affordable eco-changes that may help save the planet while also saving you a buck or two.

Host Susan Doherty presents simple yet effective steps that will have your home looking green in no time. And your energy bills will be leaner as well. From light bulbs and laundry to leaf blowers and roof racks, Doherty tackles the everyday items that suck energy while leaving a big old carbon footprint on the planet.
In keeping with its motto of "the lifestyle show that's big on style, short on time," Six Minute Style delivers a powerful punch in six (okay, sometimes seven) minutes or less. Lifestyle topics on the weekly video show and Web site run the gamut from how-to (floral arrangements and party ideas) and travel to food and wine and other must-have products. Rounding out the site are book and film reviews and soon, the site's newest section, "Good," which presents opportunities to both do and feel good.
The site, which has been up just five months, is averaging more than 2,000 hits per month and will be featured as a 'Success Story" on the Go Daddy Web site in early April.
Past episodes have included an easy-to-make floral arrangement, Signature Cocktails, and Chuck It (which household items to toss and when). There was even a two-part series on baby showers. This unexpected mix of story angles--babies, going green and cocktails--is by design. According to Doherty, the interesting balance is precisely the point.
"Women are complex," she says, "and so are their interests. I wanted to create an accessible resource that offers quick and easy information on a variety of subjects." Plus, she adds, "mixing it up keeps it interesting for me, too."
Six Must Haves in Six Minutes is a monthly video segment dedicated to products, goods, and services that Doherty "just loves." Viewers are encouraged to share their own ideas for Must Haves; if an item is selected, that viewer receives a gift basket full of all the other goodies showcased in the episode. Past episodes have included Holiday Gift Ideas and Doherty's own list of personal favorites. She's now gathering ideas for Six Must Haves for Dogs.
To keep things fresh, Doherty draws from her varied career path to find inspiration. "For years, I worked as a freelance writer, marketing consultant and producer/director/actor," she explains. "All of which is a fancy way of saying I've waited tables, bartended and organized events for numerous restaurants and caterers, picking up tips and secrets along the way. Now, I get to share them."
