Just off the complete airing of Season 2 of hit television series The Boondocks, creator Aaron McGruder is hosting "Sittin' on the Docks," a private viewing of Season 2 to celebrate the occasion Thursday, May 15, 2008 in Houston, TX at Diverse Works Art Gallery. To celebrate this milestone, McGruder will host, "Sittin' on the Docks," a "viewing party" for Season 2 benefiting the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Foundation in Houston, TX, Thursday May 17th, 2008.

Attendees will get the chance to meet and mingle with the show's creator and event co-host Cedric Yarborough from Comedy Central's Reno 911 along with a many other celebrities and fans alike. Being the first "viewing party" for the series, this will be an event you will not want to miss! In addition to the private viewing session, a DJ will provide live entertainment throughout the evening with refreshments and beverages served. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to the efforts in cancer research at the MD Anderson Cancer Research Center.

Aaron McGruder is best known for creating The Boondocks, a Universal Press Syndicate comic strip about two young African-American brothers from inner-city Chicago now living with their grandfather in a sedate suburb. McGruder's past & current projects include the Boondocks animated TV series and variety comedy series, "The Super Rumble Mix Show". He is the author of five "Boondocks" collections: "All The Rage", "Public Enemy #2", "A Right To Be Hostile", "Fresh for '01: You Suckaz", and "Boondocks: Because I Know You Don't Read The Newspaper."

The Boondocks is an animated television series created by Aaron McGruder for the Adult Swim programming block of Turner Broadcasting's Cartoon Network, based upon McGruder's comic strip of the same name. The Boondocks is a social satire of American culture and race, revolving around the lives of the Freeman family - ten-year-old Huey, his younger brother Riley, and their grandfather, Robert. The series is produced by Rebel Base in association with Sony Pictures Television and just finished airing its second season on Adult Swim.
