Wonder Woman, Hillary Clinton and the Lasso of Truth

Artist credits Hillary Clinton for reviving her will to follow her dreams to the end.

Long Beach, CA (PRWEB) April 4, 2008 -- Barbara Wurden, an enterprising entrepreneur, video producer and fine artist, has credited Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for inspiring her latest painting: a portrait depicting Clinton as Wonder Woman with her lasso of truth.

"The things we criticize and attack Hillary for is exactly what we need in a leader," says Wurden. "We need a leader with passionate determination and an iron will, a commander with unbending focused attention and drive. We need a leader who absolutely loves the position and lives for the job."

But Hillary Clinton, as a person, is true to herself
In her painting, Wurden depicts Wonder Woman's lasso as Clinton's truth of personal desire. An accompanying video diary (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf2fMcad5ts) points out how truth and politics do not necessarily go hand in hand. "But Hillary Clinton, as a person, is true to herself," says Wurden.

Wurden believes that most people are not true to themselves, and thus they make poor choices out of fear and weakness. They give up too soon in their pursuit of fulfillment, and the result is the abandonment of their own aspirations. "While most people live with regret and excuses, Clinton is an example of how we can manifest our dreams and love our choices," she says.

It was a Clinton speech that resonated so strongly with the artist that it renewed her desire to persevere and not give up in her own quest. Clinton's victory in the Democratic Primary in Texas stimulated Wurden to reconstruct her canvas into a portrait of a presidential superhero, while simultaneously shaping a new direction for her own life.
