Spleak Introduces Hybrid Publishing Platform to Combine Mainstream Media with User Generated Content

Spleak Media Network simultaneously delivers content across numerous platforms including AIM, MSN Messenger, Facebook, MySpace, SMS and more.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 2, 2008 -- Spleak announces the Spleak Media Network, a platform for distributing user generated content (UGC) side-by-side with mainstream media content across a variety of communication networks including AIM, Facebook, MSN Messenger, SMS, and many others. Spleak is the first company to offer a hybrid publishing system that enables individuals and editors of traditional publications to contribute content and put the consumer in charge of deciding what's hot and what's not.

The Spleak platform allows publishers to effectively serve high quality content on previously unreachable platforms, including leading instant messaging networks, social networks and via SMS, without departures from their existing business models or the need for new technology infrastructure. Spleak is currently working with several industry leading publications to seamlessly deliver high quality content to millions of readers through these promising venues. Consumers are able to pick the content they like and read it via widgets, social networks, interactive IM conversations and even text messages on their cell phone. Readers can easily vote on their favorites and share content with their friends. Further, Spleak makes it easy and fun for consumers to publish their own content into the network alongside mainstream media content, and provides enough structure to UGC to make it agreeable to large publishers.

Typically we see mainstream publishers at odds with UGC platforms. Spleak turns that idea inside out and offers a structured platform for hybrid publishing, one where mainstream media content and UGC coexist well, to everyone's benefit.
"Hybrid publishing sets Spleak at the forefront of content delivery and consumption," says Morrie Eisenberg, CEO of Spleak. "Typically we see mainstream publishers at odds with UGC platforms. Spleak turns that idea inside out and offers a structured platform for hybrid publishing, one where mainstream media content and UGC coexist well, to everyone's benefit."

The newly launched corporate website (www.spleakmedianetwork.com) provides background and details for media publishers interested in the Spleak content delivery platform and the roadmap of subject-area focused communities in which they can participate. Spleak's first community network, CelebSpleak, attracts more than a hundred thousand active daily users to create, rate, and share short celebrity gossip stories called 'Tattles'. Spleak plans to release several new communities, including SportSpleak, during Q2, 2008.

The Spleak Media Network is the only solution that enables mainstream media publishers to deliver content to their target users in the places and at the times they are most likely to interact with it. Spleak combines editorial content with the best of "the wisdom of the crowds," enabling mainstream media to coexist and thrive with UGC. With the massive growth of online communities, and the rise and adoption of UGC, hybrid publishing across multiple communication networks is increasingly valuable to both publishers and consumers.

About Spleak Media Network:
Spleak Media Network is a hybrid publishing platform that combines the strengths and merits of mainstream media along with user-generated content. Spleak enables highly interactive and engaging communication between users and publishers across instant messaging, social networking, SMS and web-based widgets. Spleak's first platform is CelebSpleak, a celebrity gossip content network with over 100,000 active daily users, and the company will launch numerous other content networks in 2008. Based in San Francisco, Spleak Media Network is venture-backed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ) and Sunstone Capital and is privately-held.
