Former Pitcher Releases Book Full of Biblical Counsel

Shows how God ministers blessings to those in difficult situations.

Longwood, FL (PRWEB) April 9, 2008 -- Former pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles Jon Burnham was transformed from an egotistical, foul-mouthed baseball player headed for hell into an obedient servant of God. The author of The Winning Pitch chronicles his story of what God did in his life and the lives of many people who came to him for Biblical counsel. In this new book, In the Big Inning (paperback, 978-1-60477-771-0), Jon explains through stories and illustrations how God's Word is quick and powerful in our daily experiences as we read His Word, pray, and obey Him.

Says Burnham, "I'm sure the readers will gain tremendous confidence in the Lord as they look at their lives from His point of view. He will help them in the same way He consistently helped the many individuals in this book. People will glean from these pages how God ministers His blessings to others through their Biblical response in difficult situations."

For the first few years after Burnham became a Christian, his ministry grew to about two hundred and fifty teenagers. As Jon counseled and gave family seminars from the Bible he saw hundreds of people come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. and Lord. Jon witnessed marriages saved, suicides avoided, guilt and bitterness stopped as God honored his Biblical counsel. If there is one thing he hopes to accomplish with his book, it's for readers "to get their eyes on Jesus". Burnham says, "We tend to become like the one on whom we focus."

Many have said, "God must love baseball because He started the Bible, In the beginning". Since life itself and baseball are like a hand in glove, Jon titled his book, "In The Big Inning".
