The Motivator: The Business of Selling Hope
For this film, motivational speaker Victor Antonio G. and filmmaker Dan Perez teamed up for a "behind the scenes" look at the business of professional speaking and overcoming adversity.

"The Motivator is a voyeuristic look at the business of professional speaking from the inside", said Victor Antonio G, who gave documentary filmmaker Dan Perez an unprecedented 24-hour access to what goes on in the life of a professional motivational speaker. In the movie, Victor Antonio travels to a major speaking event all the while sharing his triumphs, defeats and providing an insider's perspective on the business of professional speaking.

From food stamps to CEO of a multi-million dollar company, Victor Antonio's story is a story of triumph in the face of adversity. Born near the Cabrini Green housing projects in Chicago to a Puerto Rican family, he explains how he managed to escape the gang violence, drugs and poverty that surrounded him.

Dan Perez also pulls back the curtains and dims the spotlight to reveal the professional costs and personal sacrifices of being a professional speaker. The film's soundtrack ebbs and flows throughout the film enhancing the power of the message and capturing the shifting emotions of the film.

The film's soundtrack features an array of eclectic artists which include: DJ Blitzkrieg, Dre Ski, Bill Cruz, Brimstone127, Reverb, Karina Iglesias, Fusik, The Soul's Release, Justo Saborit, Protoman and Phamous.

"The Motivator is a story about success, about overcoming adversity and the realization of what is possible. It should inspire anyone who dares to break free and follow their entrepreneurial spirit", says Victor Antonio.

"We are thrilled to see this documentary premiere at this Festival, for as the voices of Latino professional speakers grow in the US market, Victor Antonio G., who is one of the most beloved speakers of our clients, is the prime example of that journey", notes Leonor McCall-Rodriguez, president of the Latino Speakers Bureau.

Founded in 2002, the Latino Speakers Bureau TM is a California-based corporation representing successful Hispanics and business leaders who are on the International keynote speaker circuit. Every year, its professional speakers travel across the U.S. and around the globe to host corporate and non-profit seminars, and address conferences and audiences with their message of inspiration, business expertise and diversity.
