Cortina Productions Premiers the 4-D Film Experience at the Newseum

The Newseum's signature 4-D time travel film, produced and directed by Cortina Productions, teaches audiences about news and journalism through the eyes of historic eyewitness reporters.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) April 13, 2008 -- The nation's most interactive museum, The Newseum, opening to the public on April 11, 2008, will feature Cortina Productions' latest film project and creative museum installation, "I-Witness 4-D Time Travel Adventure." The film conveys the drama and intrigue of eyewitness reporting, while reinforcing the importance of freedom of speech, exposing injustices, and getting the truth out-- at all costs.

Cortina Productions created an interactive experience that takes audiences on a "4-D" tour of a universe filled with an infinite news stream of information. Key moments and figures in journalism history are captured in 3-D on the impressive 60-foot screen. The visual effects dazzle the eyes, while the "4th dimension" of the experience shakes, bumps, and spritzes the audience through 230 years of groundbreaking events.

Cortina Productions was the creative force behind "I-Witness 4-D Time Travel Adventure," from the film's production to the surrounding theater's design and technical integration, and from concept to completion.

"Our goal was to make the Newseum 'inspirational, educational, fun, and memorable'-- a very tall order," states Jack Hurley, Sr. Vice President, Broadcasting and Deputy Director of the Newseum. "Cortina Productions delivered a 3-D film and a 4-D experience that nailed all four objectives. The film has exceeded our lofty expectations and has been a huge hit with visitors of all ages."

The principals of Cortina Productions have worked with the Freedom Forum and the former Newseum location since 1994 and have played a key role in making the facility what it is today.

"It's been an honor to create this experience with the Newseum," states Joseph Cortina, President and Creative Director for Cortina Productions. "To get the opportunity to combine fun and freedom into one experience has been amazing."

The theater, which is dedicated to Walter and Leonora Annenberg, was designed to be a beautiful and functional space for the 4-D experience, as well as for broadcasting, digital cinema, public programs, town-hall gatherings, and artistic performances.

Cortina Productions specializes in designing and producing films and interactive media experiences that inform and entertain audiences, while pushing the envelope of technology. Based in McLean, VA, the multi-award winning Cortina Productions has produced media programs for some of the nation's most innovative institutions including the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian, Muhammad Ali Center, the U.S. National Holocaust Memorial Museum, Bethel Woods Woodstock Museum, Clinton Presidential Library, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
