Emotibles: Emoticons Now Appearing Everywhere

With well over 3,000 user-created Emotibles, these strangely expressive characters are popping up in unlikely places.

New York, NY (PRWEB) April 16, 2008 -- Emoticons are now a lot more useful. Why? Because they're no longer confined to the screen.

On Emotibles.com, users create their own strangely expressive characters using Web-based tools.

Emotibles® are emoticon-inspired characters that bring color and expression to otherwise expressionless things. Famous for appearing on the world's first iPod earphone charms (aka Emotibuds), Emotibles are taking new forms as stickers, pins, t-shirts, desktop wallpapers, chat icons and more. And now, anyone can create an Emotible to suit his or her mood at any time.

With the recent re-launch of Emotibles.com, user-designed Emotible characters and products are a snap to create and use.

Here's how it works: Create an account on Emotibles.com. Quickly and easily build a personal collection of your own Emotible characters, whether you snag them from other users or design them yourself from stock colors and graphic elements. Each Emotible gets a name ("Frisky," "Cranky," etc.), an intensity rating (from "extremely positive" to "extremely negative"), and a unique ID number and public landing page on the Web where anyone can view its stats. Embed any Emotible in a Web page or email, or buy it printed or screened on stuff like high-quality, die-cut stickers for just $0.75 each.

Emotibles have gained a loyal following of young and indie-minded consumers who value self-expression and good design. Since the new Web site launched in March, users have generated over 3,000 unique designs. And each Emotible is ready to be deployed in the real or virtual world.

About Emotibles®
Emotibles are the brainchild of husband-and-wife designer duo, Jonathan Curtis Hall and Kate Hall. The Halls dreamed up their flagship product, Emotibles iPod earphone charms, as a way to snazz up those boring, white, everywhere-ad-nauseam iPod earbuds. Emotibles have since taken on a life of their own, with customers and friends designing their own ever awesomer characters using the tools on our Web site. The mission of Emotibles.com is simple: to provide folks the tools to be strangely expressive wherever they go, whatever they do.
