Take a Peek into Premiere Season of Broadway Carolina with Web Site Launch of Durham Performing Arts Center

The biggest Broadway shows and the hottest musicians on tour will soon call the Durham Performing Arts Center home. The performing arts center's new Web site showcases the premiere season of Broadway Carolina, and is the place to buy Broadway tickets in the Carolinas. The Durham Performing Arts Center is booked and operated in partnership between PFM and the Nederlander Organization, which owns or manages more than 30 Broadway theatres in New York and across the country. Audiences from Raleigh to Greensboro and everywhere in between can expect to see Broadway's best shows, up close.

Durham, NC (PRWEB) April 15, 2008 -- Come December of this year, the most popular Broadway shows and the hottest musicians on tour will be booked at the Durham Performing Arts Center. Today, the venue announced its new Web site http://www.DPACnc.com to showcase details about the premiere season of Broadway Carolina as well as other coming attractions. Durham-based CrossComm, Inc. handled Web site development. The Durham Performing Arts Center is booked and operated in partnership between PFM of Providence, R.I., and the Nederlander Organization, which owns or manages more than 30 Broadway theatres in New York and across the country.

CrossComm has created a visually appealing Web site that showcases the excitement of these upcoming performances.
Tickets for the 2008-2009 season of Broadway Carolina are now on sale online. Included in this premiere season: "Rent" featuring two original cast members; current Broadway blockbuster "Legally Blonde The Musical;" as well as "Fiddler on the Roof" with original cast member Chiam Topol; and the North Carolina premiere of Oprah Winfrey's "The Color Purple." CrossComm is noted for its Web design work on behalf of the Carolina Theatre, Durham Chamber of Commerce, Durham Convention & Visitors Bureau, among many other organizations in the Research Triangle region and nationally.

The Durham Performing Arts Center is a 2,800 seat multi-use theater currently under construction downtown in the American Tobacco District, adjacent to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Spearheaded by the City of Durham, the $44 million facility is the creation of Chapel Hill architectural firm Szostak Design and Dallas-based developer Garfield-Traub. On track for completion in December 2008, the venue will become the largest of its kind in North and South Carolina, featuring top Broadway performances, concerts, family shows and other events booked in partnership between Professional Facilities Management, known industry-wide as PFM, and the Nederlander Organization.

This world-class partnership promises an authentic Broadway experience, direct-from-New York, so audiences from Raleigh to Greensboro experience Broadway's best shows sooner than ever before. A spectacular cultural landmark, the Durham Performing Arts Center will draw audiences from around the state to more than 100 shows each year with convenient access off I-40, I-540 and I-85, and more than 3,500 parking spaces within walking distance of the venue.
