Sweet Smell of Success with "Stinky Feet"

"Stinky Feet" -- the irreverent and irresistible song from Lanny Sherwin's new "I Like Being Me!" CD - has won Second Place in the Children's Music category in the 2007 International Songwriting Competition (ISC).

Santa Barbara, CA (PRWEB) April 16, 2008 -- Here's some news that really stinks … in a good way! "Stinky Feet" -- the irreverent and irresistible song from Lanny Sherwin's new I Like Being Me! CD - has won Second Place in the Children's Music category in the 2007 International Songwriting Competition (ISC). The tune, written by Sherwin, is the smash hit off I Like Being Me!, which was released in July 2007.

Renowned for its prestigious celebrity judges, the ISC received over 15,000 songs from amateur and professional songwriters from 100 countries worldwide. With that kind of competition, it took some really fetid, foul, and forbiddingly funky footsies to pull off an award. "Stinky Feet" remains up to the challenge. This is the 6th music award for "I Like Being Me" - 2 of which were for the tasteless, yet ultimately immature, "Stinky Feet".

The ISC has the most prestigious panel of judges of all the songwriting and music contests in the world. Some of them included Tom Waits; Loretta Lynn; Nelly Furtado; Ray Davies (The Kinks); Ornette Coleman; Jerry Lee Lewis; Robert Smith (The Cure); Cassandra Wilson; John Mayall; Joe Satriani; Michael W. Smith; Chris Hillman (The Byrds); Amy Ray (Indigo Girls); and many more.

Sherwin's record label, Sandman Records, has won 29 music awards - an amazing, uh, feat, largely due to the label's motivational motto: Don't Drive Parents Crazy!" The new CD is full of Sherwin's unique take on the everyday experiences in a child's life. These include making mistakes, valuing a friend, counting the days until the weekend, expressing feelings, and respecting the environment. I Like Being Me! is the fourth children's CD from Sandman Records and Lanny Sherwin.

I Like Being Me! is available nationwide including Borders, Amazon, iTunes, and the Sandman Records website (www.SandmanRecords.net). Sandman Records has been creating children's music since 2001. A portion of Sandman Record's proceeds benefits the Spina Bifida Association of America, numerous preschools, hospitals and children's fundraisers nationwide.
