Independent game development studio Playtechtonics announces that their self published free online space game Starport: Galactic Empires has surpassed the 200,000 account mark. In the Starport universe, players compete in fast-paced spaceship combat to grow and expand their own empire of planets through invasion and colonization.

Starport: Galactic Empires is a free to play massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) self published by independent game development studio Playtechtonics and released in 2004. In this space RPG players take the role of a space ship captain and explore and conquer a vast galaxy filled with others players.
