New Work of Fiction Speaks to Global Malaise of Unbelief
Acrophobic and celebrity unite to discover God's faithfulness in new book.
Longwood, FL (PRWEB) April 17, 2008 -- Xulon author June B. Anderson's novel of a loveable acrophobic and a skeptical celebrity has just been released in bookstores, and it speaks to the global malaise of unbelief. To Catch a Fallen Star (paperback, 978-1-60477-803-8; hardcover, 978-1-60477-804-5) promises to provide readers with an interesting way to witness the love of God and His provision for our salvation to various kinds of people. Holly Monroe, the story's protagonist, is an acrophobic--the thought of flying the friendly skies sends her into a panic. She is nervous enough as she boards a 767 bound for Amsterdam, but to complicate matters, her favorite actor, Chris Lapp, takes the seat beside her. As Holly soon realizes, Chris has trouble of his own, and they form a friendship that sees them through some harrowing times. Together, both Holly and Chris discover that God is true to His Word and more faithful than either could have ever imagined.
Says Anderson of her first outing as an author, "This is my first book and, although the topic isn't new by any stretch of the imagination, I believe it will meet its readers with a different slant. My two-fold hope for this book is: 1) unbelievers will accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, and 2) they and others will learn how to lead other people to salvation through Him."
A born-again Christian for approximately 24 years, Anderson says she desires seeing unbelievers come to Christ and that this desire deepens every time she sees this happen. "One of my sincerest prayers for this book is that people in the news, for whatever reason, will become Christians," she says.
Xulon Press, a part of Salem Communications Corporation, is the world's largest Christian publisher, with more than 5,000 titles published to date. Retailers may order To Catch a Fallen Star through Ingram Book Company and/or Spring Arbor Book Distributors.
