New Book Seeks to Dispel "Holier Than Thou" Stereotype

Author's debut provides spiritual, emotional "food" for those in need.

Longwood, FL (PRWEB) April 17, 2008 -- Holier Than Thou (paperback, 978-1-60477-032-9), a new book from Xulon author M' Roberts, explores the stereotype that labels Christians as being "holier than thou," ways in which to alleviate the stereotype, and why Christians should feel compelled to want to dispel those perceptions. Essentially there exist two types of Christians in this world: those who submit to the will of God and operate out of obedience and reverence to Him and those who know God but live for the things of this world. The latter half cause their faith to appear questionable and become something that can be stereotyped by those in observation as hypocritical, pretentious, and/or a farce. Readers of Holier Than Thou will be able to see these stereotypes for what they are and reject them.

Says Roberts, "Prayerfully, I hope that they will feel a sense of empowerment to make choices in their own lives that will affect the way they see themselves, [how others see them, and most importantly--how God sees them. The other takeaway I hope the readers will receive is that not all Christians [are hypocrites; that we should never stereotype anyone; and we all have great potential and opportunity through Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior."

Armed with a desire to touch as many lives as possible in a positive fashion, the author fully knows and understands the different types of struggles and challenges that many people face. "I care about people and it is my desire to use the gifts, talents, and resources that God has blessed me with to provide as much spiritual, emotional, nutritional, and financial 'food' as I can for those who are in need," the author says. "God has placed it on my heart to show as many people as I can that they are not forgotten and there is help available to them as well."

Xulon Press, a part of Salem Communications Corporation, is the world's largest Christian publisher, with more than 5,000 titles published to date. Retailers may order Holier Than Thou through Ingram Book Company and/or Spring Arbor Book Distributors.
