MetroSofa Brings Interior Designed Custom Furniture To the Public
Domino magazine feaatured, MetroSofa, brings custom designed chairs, sofas and couches to the public and starts signing retailers across America and offers custom-designed furniture at a retail level. Using MetroSofa's in-house design / upholstery team, the customer can create anything they want without the high prices associated with those 'magazine featured' furniture pieces.
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) April 17, 2008 -- MetroSofa, owned by modern shed green builder, MetroShed, has launched unique furniture to the public. Usually reserved for interior designers, MetroSofa's forward thinking is enabling anyone to create a unique chair or sofa.
The designers behind MetroSofa loves design. David Ballinger and Jennifer Stout frequently take trips to see the latest and greatest furniture designs and scour the home design magazines for ideas, but when it came to actually purchasing something that they saw in a magazine article they hit a road block. It wasn't available and no amount of research could reveal it's location, manufacturer or price. MetroSofa was born.
Having already designed chairs and furniture for corporate clients David Ballinger, owner of UK-based GDM Ltd. (which also owns MetroShed, MetroArtwork and MetroShip) enlisted Jennifer Stout, an Illinois born Florida based designer, to create a range of furniture that would showcase what customers could do. The results are listed on www.metrosofa.com and will be viewable in our first round of retailers in California, Florida, Illinois, New York, Oregon and Washington.
Because GDM Ltd., as owner of MetroShed has been a 'green' producer since 1995, MetroShed is continuing its green manufacturing processes with the Metro Sofas. "MetroSofa bridges the gap between the big box furniture stores and one-off interior designer pieces" David Ballinger continued, "I wanted to create a range that would inspire others to realize they don't have to settle for something they see in a local big box store. If they can dream it, we can make it."
With a team of upholsters on hand, approximately 5,000 fabrics on hand and approximately 300 chair and couch frames ready to re-upholster, MetroSofa has the ability to react quickly to a customers request. Jennifer Stout stated, "We have an extensive back catalogue of furniture items that we can reference with a customer that gives them control over their vision...or of course we can design something for the customer for a specific room, or involving a specific fabric, color or pattern. We now have a consistent stock of very unusual furniture and classic frames that are all ready to re-do."
MetroSofa armchairs, parlor chairs, occasional chairs, French Louis chairs, chaise loungers, couches, loveseats and sofas are completely stripped and re-built to 'new again' condition. The 'donor' recycled sofas and chairs are injected with new life and completely overhauled to create modern antique pieces for generations of use. MetroSofa uses only the finest materials from the fabrics to the cushioning to provide the customer with style and comfort.
The Metro Sofa.com website also gives interior designers a new way of finding and customizing eco-friendly green furniture. MetroSofa works directly with Interior Designers from west coast to east coast (Los Angeles, CA to New York, NY) to bring their own design ideas to life in the form of unique custom made furniture for their clients.
