Author Debuts Inspirational Novel Set in the Carolinas

New book discovers meaning of faith in Christ in midst of adversity

Longwood, FL (PRWEB) April 19, 2008 -- On the heels of her mother's death, Hope Logan reluctantly returns to her grandparents' home in search of a journal that reveals explosive crimes and atrocities of the past that have haunted her grandma for nearly sixty-five years. Bitterness, unforgiveness, and anger consume her as she sets out to solve the mystery that surrounds her grandma's life. The dark, evil secret contained in the journal only deepens her resentment of God. Because of her quest, she comes in contact with many strong believers, especially a handsome young pastor and three senior citizens. But can she discover the true meaning of faith and hope in Christ in the midst of adversity? Carolyn Digh Griffin's debut, Hope Returns (paperback), is an uplifting account of the power of God's love and mercy to sinful mankind.

Says Griffin, "I hope readers will realize how God works in the lives of Christians to bring a lost world to Himself. I want believers also to realize how important their actions are to unbelievers. Some church members' actions and attitudes don t demonstrate Christian values, and through this book, I want readers to see that, as Christians, we are to strive to be exemplary Christ followers and to practice Christian love and forgiveness at all times."

A native North Carolinian, Griffin drew on a place that was close to home--the mountains of North Carolina--to act as the backdrop to her inspirational novel. "This story is a true picture of life in the Carolinas," she says. "Customs, legends, and southern dialect are an important part of the storyline."

Carolyn Digh Griffin resides in Waxhaw, North Carolina, with her husband, Hoyle. She has two daughters and four grandchildren.

Xulon Press, a part of Salem Communications Corporation, is the world's largest Christian publisher, with more than 5,000 titles published to date. Retailers may order Hope Returns through Ingram Book Company and/or Spring Arbor Book Distributors.
