Phil Cousineau Encourages Nine Ways to Rekindle Passion and Imagination

In Stoking the Creative Fires, Phil Cousineau brings the reader full circle through the process of creation -- from the initial impulse to finding the time and tapping into the source, to focus, to be disciplined, and to deal with the fear of failure or the failure to rekindle one's resources; and finally to making it real - doing it over and over again, and keeping the fires alive.

San Francisco, CA, April 20, 2008 -- In Stoking the Creative Fires (Conari Press, May 2008), award-winning author and filmmaker, Phil Cousineau, gives readers the tools they need to alleviate burnout and rekindle passion in all areas of their lives. Based on twenty years of teaching, Cousineau offers a multitude of stories, ideas, and exercises drawn from historical and contemporary figures, artists of all kinds, and from his own experience, to inspire readers on ways to live a passionate and creative life. Cousineau writes, "Creativity is as natural as breathing. To create is to grow, which in turn makes us feel vitally alive."

Divided into three parts: Inspiration, Perspiration, and Realization, Stoking the Creative Fires brings the reader full circle through the process of creation -- from the initial impulse to finding the time and tapping into the source, to focus, to be disciplined, and to deal with the fear of failure or the failure to rekindle one's resources; and finally to making it real -- doing it over and over again, and keeping the fires alive.

Throughout the ages the symbol of fire has been synonymous with soul, spirit, and creativity. Its presence, its heat, and its light always represent the force of life itself.
One of today's preeminent mythographers, Cousineau uses fire as the symbol for the urge to create, the drive to express one's innermost self. In his own words, "Throughout the ages the symbol of fire has been synonymous with soul, spirit, and creativity. Its presence, its heat, and its light always represent the force of life itself."

Following in the footsteps of Joseph Campbell's famous injunction to "follow your bliss," Cousineau gives readers the fuel to continue their journey to find passion in Stoking the Creative Fires.
