The Volunteer Center of Los Angeles-Assistance League of Southern California's First Annual CelebrateLA 2008 Will Honor 18,000 of LA's Finest Volunteers, Sunday, April 27 at the Rose Bowl. With Event Support by Guitar Center and Music Connection Magazine, the Event Line-up Includes Celebrity Presenters and Musical Acts Cristian Castro, Orgullo Cafe, Linda Lopez, Ahui, Nydia Rojas, We Are Lions, Mara and Small Mercies.
Los Angeles, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire/PRWEB ) April 25, 2008 -- 18,000 of Los Angeles' most dedicated volunteers will be honored with the President's Volunteer Service Award as celebrities, including actresses Leyla Milani, Isabella Cascarano and LA's hottest musical guests, appear at CelebrateLA. With the support of Guitar Center and LA-based Music Connection Magazine, the talent line-up for the innaugural CelebrateLA 2008, taking place Sunday, April 27th at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA, will include Cristian Castro, Orgullo Cafe, Linda Lopez, Ahui and Nydia Rojas, who will join rockers We Are Lions, Australia's Small Mercies and Music Connection Magazine's Best Kept Secret performer, Mara - all of whom will perform live for LA's best volunteers.
CelebrateLA 2008 will honor and recognize the volunteer contributions made by thousands of men and women in Los Angeles County this year. The Volunteer Center of Los Angeles-Assistance League of Southern California also announced that this year a record 18,000 President's Volunteer Service Awards (PVSA) will be presented at this inaugural event. The award is issued by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation on behalf of the
President of the United States.
The President's Volunteer Service Award is only one way that VCLA-ALSC will pay tribute to the outstanding volunteers in Los Angeles County. VCLA-ALSC will also bestow CelebrateLA
Awards to a select group of volunteers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to assist those in need. Admission is FREE and activities on the day of the event include live concerts, arts & crafts, awards, carnival games, giveaways, prizes, information booths and much more.
