Art Therapist Myriam Reynolds Set to Display First Gallery Showing May 2 Portion of Proceeds to Benefit Denver Children's Home

The spirit of healing will soon be seen as new coming artist and avid philanthropist, Myriam Reynolds, prepares to dazzle and delight art patrons on May 2 with her first collection at Now ArtSpace located in Denver, Colo.

Denver, CO (PRWEB) April 30, 2008 -- The spirit of healing will soon be seen as new coming artist and avid philanthropist, Myriam Reynolds, prepares to dazzle and delight art patrons on May 2, 2008 with her first collection at Now ArtSpace located in Denver, Colo.

Myriam lives and works in Denver, where she works as a licensed counselor and art therapist for the Denver Children's Home and the Juvenile Diversion Counseling Program with the 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office in Centennial. Myriam also maintains a private practice that provides support and counseling to surrogate mothers and is an active member of the Art Therapy Association of Colorado (ATACO).

Art therapy continues to be a fast growing mental health profession within Colorado. It is always inspiring to see the great work that is being done and how it is helping so many people. Myriam Reynolds is a perfect example of the eclectic skill set required to facilitate constructive art therapy as well as maintaining her own art craftsmanship
"Art therapy continues to be a fast growing mental health profession within Colorado. It is always inspiring to see the great work that is being done and how it is helping so many people. Myriam Reynolds is a perfect example of the eclectic skill set required to facilitate constructive art therapy as well as maintaining her own art craftsmanship," said Corissa J.S. Gold, President of the Art Therapy Association of Colorado.

In her work as an art therapist, Reynolds is often inspired by her clients and the risks they take in their work, sharing their inner experiences. Her goal with the collection, which is called "The Energy Series", was to take her own risk and step up to the next level of a gallery showing. Reynolds plans to donate a portion of the proceeds back to those who inspired the collection, the Denver Children's Home.

"The Energy Series is about the possibility of change in myself and my clients, about our potential as human beings to think and be different," says Reynolds. "The style of my paintings came about because my subject matter is almost always feelings, and I knew pouring my feelings out on a canvas or paper would be easier than talking about them or anything else."

The NOW ArtSpace Gallery located at 3977 Tennyson Street, Denver, CO 80212, is scheduled to unveil the collection this Friday, May 2, 2008, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The collection is open for viewing by collectors and the general public through May 31, and each piece is available for purchase as well. Reynolds online portfolio can be seen online at http://www.warmtoastcafe.com/art/miramira.
