America's Most Sparkling City

White Plains, NY (PRWEB) May 5, 2008 -- What American city makes the nation feel the most alive and vibrant? A survey released today by [yellow tail wines unveiled the top 10 nominees for "America's Most Sparkling City." Now it's up to online voters to determine the winner, which will be unveiled during a sparkling event in the winning city the week of July 4, in conjunction with Independence Day.

"The inaugural Search for America's Most Sparkling City is designed to uncover the most animated, brilliant, lively and vivacious city in the United States," said Mark Lyle, vice president of marketing for [yellow tail wines. "We thought honoring the cities across the United States that make Americans feel the most 'switched on' would be a fun way to remind them to 'always sparkle'."

The top 10 nominees below were ranked by the highest percentage of respondents as being "sparkling" cities, according to a survey of 900 adults ages 21 and older conducted by Greenfield Online. More than half of survey respondents said that what makes a city sparkle is "breathtaking scenery" (61%) and "great night life" (53%). Americans are encouraged to cast their votes until June 15 for "America's Most Sparkling City" at www.yellowtailwineusa.com.

Las Vegas - (68%) - The "Entertainment Capital of the World" is a 24-hour city open 7 days a week, where the nights and days become interchangeable, that is known for its glamorous hotels, surreal shows, and non-stop gambling.

Los Angeles - (52%) - La-La Land, also known as Hollywood and the "City of Angels," is where fantasy becomes reality, where celebrities schmooze while shopping on Rodeo Drive, and where glamour is the rule--not the exception.

Martha's Vineyard - (51%) - A haven for Native Americans, seafarers, and visitors seeking refuge from a chaotic world among the island's quaint towns, long strands of beaches, and pastoral scenery.

South Beach-Miami - (58%) - Mile upon mile of sun and sand, filled with salsa music and fresh seafood, this is a meeting place for the world's young, rich and beautiful.

New Orleans - (59%) - Home to Mardi Gras, Bourbon Street, historical landmarks, jazz fest, gumbo, crawfish, and a culture that is warm, soulful and wholly unique.

New York - (64%) - The Big Apple, also known as the "City That Never Sleeps," is a multicultural Mecca that is world renowned for its endless energy, sense of urgency and vibrancy--as well as for being home to national treasures including the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Central Park, Broadway, and Rockefeller Center.

Orlando - (63%) - The home of Walt Disney World, Sea World, and Universal Orlando Studios offers a topsy-turvy, Mad Hatter world, where ducks quack jokes, whales kiss, mice are nice, and elephants fly--where life becomes a journey out of reality, into your imagination.

San Diego - (58%) - Filled with the charm of its Spanish settlers, this city is home to 70 miles of beaches along the Pacific Ocean, a gentle Mediterranean climate, the Anza-Borrego Desert and the Laguna Mountains.

San Francisco - (62%) - The City by the Bay: charm, cuisine, and avant-culture in one of the world's greatest natural settings. Ride a cable car, windsurf the Golden Gate, scribble poetry in a North beach cafe. Power-shop. See an opera, then club-crawl through cyber-cool SoMa.

Santa Monica - (55%) - Located along the sultry Pacific Ocean coastline and filled with glamorous urban walkways, gourmet cuisine, and upscale couture fashion boutiques--what's not to love?

Following the successful launch of [yellow tail Sparkling White wine last fall, [yellow tail is introducing a Sparkling Rosé wine on May 26. The suggested retail price for both is $10.99.

"We aimed to put a colorful twist on sparkling wines to make them accessible to anyone for any occasion," Lyle said. "Both of our sparkling products accomplish that--they are fresh, fruity, easy drinking and fun."

About the Survey
An online research study was conducted among a nationally representative sample of 900 adults, 21 years of age and older. Survey respondents were asked to think of a place that is Sparkling--a place that is vibrant and makes them feel alive the moment they arrive--and then rank how Sparkling each of 30 top U.S. cities might make them feel on a scale of 1-10.
